Photos: Doctor delivers baby but leave the head inside then sends the mother to another hospital without a word

A shocking story of alleged medical malpractice is coming out of a hospital in the southern Thai town of Pattalung.

Last Wednesday, October 26th, a 17 year old girl named only as Poo - went in to have a baby at the hospital that was not named. The duty doctor pulled the baby out but its head broke off.

The relatives waited nervously outside the delivery room for a long time. Eventually they were told to take the expectant mother to another hospital. No explanation was given by the duty doctor.

The family took her to another hospital where a suction machine was used. The doctor there discovered that only the head of the baby was in the mothers womb. The body was missing.

Shocked relatives went back to the original hospital to find out what happened. Later it emerged that the duty doctor at the original hospital had pulled the baby out but had decapitated it in the process but said nothing to the relatives.

Daily News further discovered that following the delivery, a public health official had offered the family 400,000 baht in compensation.

The elder sister of the mother posted pictures of the head of the baby on Facebook along with a message saying that they were absolutely shocked, adding that there is no way would they accept compensation without the hospital and doctor accepting responsibility.

The sister said that people went online to say that she was a liar and threats were made to her. She told daily News: "Who in hell would lie about such a thing?"

Relatives of the mother, who is currently recovering from the ordeal in the second hospital, that also was not named, have gone to the government's Damrongtham watchdog group to seek justice.

Meanwhile the local health chief Dr Thanit Sermkaek ordered an investigation into the matter as the hospital said such a thing had never happened before. Daily News further reported that the doctor who allegedly decapitated the baby had gone on leave.

Relatives said that the baby had been described as normal before the mother went into labour. The torso has been retrieved and the baby sewn back together. Relatives have refused to to take the body for cremation until the matter is sorted out to everyone's satisfaction.

Exclusive: "I don't feel betrayed by Iyanya's move to Mavin Records" - Ubi Franklin

CEO of Made Men Music Group (MMMG) and Iyanya's former manager, Ubi Franklin, has reacted to the singer's major move to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records. Speaking exclusively to Linda Ikejis Blog (LIB), Ubi states that he's happy for his former partner and does not feel betrayed by his move to a competing music label. LIB: News broke this morning that your former partner, Iyanya has signed onto Don Jazzy's music label,

Mavin Records. We would love to know your stance and reaction to this? I’m happy for Iyanya. The truth is that, if you are happy for somebody, God will be happy with you and you will be happy with yourself. I don’t have anything against him.

This is music business and everything you do - as far your music is right and you are making the music for the world, it doesn’t depend on the label that you are in for all to enjoy it. I'm happy he is where great music comes out from, a label with one of the best music producers in Africa. I'm so happy for him, today is his birthday and I wish him all the best.

LIB: Iyanya informed everyone initially that he was going to start up his own label. This has however changed. Do you feel betrayed?

We are all human beings; today Iyanya is 30 by age. As a 30-year-old man, you are able to take any decision on your own, you can change your mind, you can do whatever you want to do. The most important thing is that from what I've seen, trust me he is happy. Nobody takes a decision that is going to be bad for him.. I still know he still has his own plans for his Label. But at this point, I know Iyanya is where good music comes from.

LIB: So you don't feel betrayed?

No No! The only way I will feel betrayed is if there was something he owed me and he didn’t give back to me, but there is nothing like that. I'm happy for him.

LIB: Do you see any more collaborations between your team and Iyanya in the future?

That’s the funny thing about music, everything is possible. When you see people in music having issues, just leave them, the wheel goes round, if you check my snapchat, I'm always dancing to his music. There might be a future collaboration, I'm open to anything. I'm a business man, there is nothing we are fighting for.

Ben Murray-Bruce: "I'm never against loans, but they should be spent exclusively on developing Nigeria not developing our elite."

President Buhari last week forwarded a request to the National Assembly to approve external borrowing plan of $29.960 billion, in order to execute key infrastructural projects across the country between 2016 - 2018. Senator/businessman Ben-Murray Bruce reacted to this via social media, saying if the loan is at the end of the day mismanaged, the youths will not be leaders of tomorrow but future debtors. In his words:

I'm never against taken loans, but they should be spent exclusively on developing Nigeria not developing our elite. We are being told what FG plans to spend the loan on, but how much of those expenditures affect the youths? People of my age won't be the ones to repay this loan. Its the youth who will, repay, so it must benefit them, not us.

We elders must have a rethink. We must think of our youth and ways to bequeath assets to them, not liabilities. Elected officials still earn ridiculously high salaries in the midst of poverty. Let's address that before we borrow.

Elected officials still move about in 10-20 car convoys costing hundreds of millions. Let's fix that before borrowing. We want to borrow $29 billion for our youth to repay back yet not one youth is in the Federal Executive Council. We have not implemented the Orosanye Report and we want to borrow? It will be like pouring water into a basket. Before we pile on debt that our youth will have to repay lets at least plug all areas of waste in our government.

If we don't do the right thing, this loan will turn our youths from leaders of tomorrow to debtors of tomorrow!

Don't drag Buhari into judges' arrest - Presidency

The Presidency has advised journalists and other Nigerians to stop linking President Muhammadu Buhari to the legal travails of some recently arrested Judges in the country.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said President Muhammadu Buhari would be the last person to authorise anybody to induce a Judge to pervert the course of justice.

Malam Shehu recalled that, despite his personal familiarity with some court Judges, the President had never used that familiarity to seek favours from them from 2003, 2007 and 2011 when he was challenging the fairness of the presidential election results during the periods in question.

The Senior Special Assistant also explained that, as a politician, Buhari had never once ever suggested to his lawyers to approach any Judge for assistance to win his cases. He said the President lives by this principle and has never deviated from it.

On the fate of the Judges facing corruption allegations, the Presidential Media Aide said the President doesn't tell Courts how to do their jobs and that anybody accused of corruption is protected by law to defend their innocence. He explained that the purpose of the law is to punish the guilty and acquit the innocent, noting that the law projects the rights everyone.

Shehu stressed that the President doesn't have any powers to force any court to convict anybody who is innocent, arguing that in a democratic society, that cannot happen without resistance by the people.
