Depressed student nurse, 22, sent final tragic text to her ex-boyfriend before killing herself at home following breakup

A 22-year-old beautiful nursing student took her life shortly after breaking up with her boyfriend. Lucy de Oliveira, 22, died of asphyxiation but had also overdosed on painkillers before her death, the forensic pathology registrar said.
Lucy attended Liverpool John Moores University and was described as a bright and caring woman. However, she also had a history of anxiety and depression. She recently broke up with her boyfriend and went into depression. Just before she took her life, she sent a text to her ex-boyfriend hinting at what she planned to do.

"'I just want it to end, I want it to end," the message read.
Shortly after, she strangled herself at her student home in Kensington, East Liverpool, on February 27. Following the report of the forensic pathology registrar, Area Coroner Anita Bhardwaj has concluded that there was no doubt that Lucy took her own life.
She said: "Lucy was a bright, intelligent 22-year-old with a medical history of depression and anxiety. It is so tragic - she had a bright future ahead of her."
Lucy's mum Liz de Oliveira, 59, paid tribute to her daughter.
She told the inquest: "She always put everybody else before herself. It's a tragedy not just for us, but for society as she had so much to give. Everybody thinks their child is special, but she really was."
Pam Hussey, 89, Lucy's grandmother, said: "She was the light of our lives - there were 400 people at the funeral. She said to me 'you must never die', and then did this. It's such a waste."

House of Reps to summon ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, over Malabu deal

The House of Representatives says it would be inviting former President Goodluck Jonathan, to give his evidence on his role in the controversial $1 billion Malabu Oil deal. The former president has been accused of collecting bribe during the transactions for the sale the oil well in 2015.
Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee probing the alleged corruption, malpractices and breach of
process in the award of OPL 245, Razak Atunwa, said the committee would be writing to Jonathan so he can appear before them to clear his name.
The committee chairman said they have conducted extensive investigation into the OPL 245 fraud and was coming close to the end of their investigations, hence the need to give Jonathan a fair hearing since his name was mentioned in the matter.
A statement by the committee noted that it took account of the following facts:
(i) Mr Jonathan was the President at the material time the Ministers brokered the deal that led to the allegation of $1bn diversion of funds;
(ii) Mr Jonathan’s name features in the proceedings initiated by the Public Prosecutor of Milan in Italy;
(iii) A U.K. Court Judgment in relation to an application to return part of the money being restrained, castigated the Jonathan Administration as not having acted in the best interest of Nigeria in relation to the ‘deal’;
(iv) The Attorney-General of the Federation at the material time, Mohammed Bello Adoke, has recently instituted proceedings in court wherein he pleads that all his actions were as instructed by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Accordingly, pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution, the Committee has decided to request that former President Goodluck Jonathan give evidence as to his role in the matter. The statement added that the Secretariat will write to the former president asking for his response and submissions.

CNN has found the Reddit user behind the Trump wrestling GIF

According to CNN, Reddit user "HanA**holeSolo" first shared the GIF last week Wednesday of President Trump pummeling a wrestler with CNN's logo imposed on his face. The GIF was later edited into a video with sound and tweeted by the President on Sunday.
On Reddit, "HanA**holeSolo" took credit for inspiring the tweet. Soon after, "HanA**holeSolo's other posts on Reddit, some of which included racist and anti-Semitic imagery, quickly circulated on social media.
Now the user is apologizing, writing in a lengthy post on Reddit that he does not advocate violence against the press and expressing remorse there and in an interview with CNN for other posts he made that were racist and anti-Semitic.
The apology came after CNN's KFile identified the man behind "HanA**holeSolo." Using identifying information that "HanA**holeSolo" posted on Reddit, KFile was able to determine key biographical details, to find the man's name using a Facebook search and ultimately corroborate details he had made available on Reddit. On Monday, KFile attempted to contact the man by email and phone but he did not respond.
On Tuesday, "HanA**holeSolo" posted his apology and deleted all of his other posts.
After posting his apology, "HanA**holeSolo" called CNN's KFile and confirmed his identity. In the interview, "HanA**holeSolo" sounded nervous about his identity being revealed and asked to not be named out of fear for his personal safety and for the public embarrassment it would bring to him and his family.
As a result, CNN is not publishing "HanA**holeSolo's" name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.

Boy, 16, marries 71-year-old lover after they threaten to commit suicide if their families stop them

A shocking video showing a wedding ceremony between a 16-year-old boy and his 71-year-old lover has emerged. The teenager and his elderly female lover had faced objections when they decided they wanted to get married but they swore to kill themselves if they were not allowed to be together and their families finally gave in.

The video shows Selamat Riayadi marrying his bride Rohaya. It starts with him holding a microphone, reciting what is believed to be his marital vows. As soon as he is done, guests give a loud cheer for the new couple. The young groom is seen with his hand to his face as soon as their union is proclaimed, making it impossible to know what he is feeling. His wife, on her part, sat quietly beside him, her expression unreadable. It is not clear what motivated their marriage. Money has been ruled out as both newlyweds are equally poor.

Selamat's family made a dowry payment of 200,000 Indonesian Rupiah (about £11.50) to Rohaya's family. The wedding held at the home of a local community leader named as Kuswoyo. Many people doubted the authenticity of the wedding after the video spread. But an Indonesian news outlet claims it spoke to Kuswoyo who confirmed the marriage. He also disclosed that the couple threatened to kill themselves if they were barred from marrying.
He said: "They said they wanted to commit suicide because they were completely in love, so if one of them dies, then both must die."
Rohaya had been married twice and also widowed twice. It is Selamat's first marriage. The official minimum age for boys to marry in Indonesia is 19 but a loophole allows for any marriage within a person’s "religious norms".

'Hungry' orphan allegedly punished on the order of Zamfara State Commissioner of Women Affairs

Human rights activist IG Wala has accused the Zamfara State Commissioner of Women Affairs, Balkisu Ibrahim Bungudu of ordering the punishment of a boy in an orphanage home after he told the media that they usually go to bed with little or no food. See his post shared on Facebook yesterday:
"Remember the Zamfara audio which alleged some corrupt practices against the commissioner women affairs? see what t is turning into.
''Report reaching says, after the Hon. Commissioner Balkisu Ibrahim Bungudu debunked the corrupt practices allegation against her, some media houses in Zamfara advanced their findings by way of getting across to the orphanage home to interview some boys. The Commissioner, in her interviewed outrightly described the meal being served in the orphanage as the best ever. But, one of the boys told the media that sometimes they sleep without eating or with just little. Based on that statement, report says, the Commissioner Women Affairs Zamfara instructed they should punish the boy which they ended up inflicting injury on him."

• Friends and family have been thrown into mourning following the painful death of a promising fashion designer and 400 level student of the Federal University of Technology.

Reports are sketchy, however, according to details gathered fro his siblings and friends, Tochukwu Paschal Njoku was declared missing on Thursday, June 8, after he left with a friend from Ihiagwa to Owerri to pick up something.

Later the police found their car (a navy blue Lexus 330) abandoned but no sign of the occupants. Unfortunately, his body was found on Monday, June 12.

Three days before he disappeared, precisely on June 5th, Tochukwu, who goes by the Facebook name, TC Shzzy wrote:
"Thank you for saving my life today...I appreciate you deeply"
When a friend Fortunatus Ibekwe asked what happened, Tochukwu simply replied:
"Ekwe di bad"

Wife catches her husband cheating & cuts off his mahnhood (graphic photos)

I don't know how true this story is but it was shared on Imgur. According to the story, the Chinese woman caught her husband cheating, and before he slept on the night of the incident, she put sleeping pills in his food and when he dozed off, she took a knife and cut off his private parts. The man woke up from the immense pain and called police after realizing what had happened to him. The woman is currently in court on assault charges.

Man attacked by youths in Abia after they claimed he was a wizard (photos)

Esau Ihemeje pictured above was manhandled by the youths of Ndiolumbe, Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government of Abia State, on the suspicion that he is a wizard. The youths dragged him out of his home at about 4am and gave him the beating of his life on May 2nd.
They accused him of causing calamities in their community.
Meanwhile an NGO named Foundation For Environmental Rights, Advocacy & Development (FENRAD), has petitioned the Inspector General of Police over the manhandling of Ihemeje.
